Why Are You Here?

This is, of course, a self titled Website. But it’s not about me – if you want to find out more about me then you should be on my About Me Page

No this is strictly about you. There has to be a point why you cruised in on your internet spaceship to my little corner of the web, and that’s about what I can do to help you. Otherwise, what’s the point?

It took me a while to figure that out, and it started as a dank little corner for me to write. I enjoyed writing, so it was okay. But then I came to realise that it was only when I went through the things that I love doing, that I can help you. I love travelling, getting off the beaten path, skiing, hiking, seeing the world, challenging myself, mountains & beaches, cities & countryside, food, blogging, travelling cheap & smart, and feeling like the world is my “oyster”. Not entirely sure why the phrase exists, but you get my point. You’re here to live – as ferociously as you can.

Therefore this is what I can give to you –

  • I can turn you from a tourist to a traveller.
  •  I can help you be an adventurer
  • I can teach you to travel smart
  • I can show you how to feel good
  • I can teach you to blog like a boss

Those are the goals of www.davechant.com, and together form My Philosophy on how I can help you. I’ve mapped out each goal in more detail below.

If that doesn’t sound like your thang then I completely understand. Let’s not waste time. The x icon is at the top of the tab – your work is needed elsewhere on the internet.

But if it sounds good, then it’s great to have you onboard. I have one request. Scroll down to the bottom of the page or click here, and subscribe to my Monthly Newsletter. It won’t be a bombardment, just a casual hello 12 times a year, with the occasional one-off update thrown in if there’s something more going on.

Otherwise, enjoy the content. Head straight to the Blog for latest articles, and make sure you Contact me if you have any questions.

I Turn Tourists into Travellers

I believe travelling is not just about ticking off the hotspots in a day and then heading home. And I hope you agree. If you want to get further inside the culture of a destination, then stick around. I’ve travelled far and wide, to around 50 countries at present, and always like to find items off the tourist track. My niche country, if I have one, is Italy, but you’ll find information here from many places like Madeira (pictured).

I Help You Be An Adventurer

I spend my Winters Skiing and my Summers in Festivals, and I love Adventure. I’m a hiker, cyclist, skiing. I like challenging myself. I’ll try anything once, having jumped out of a plane, paraglided, parasailed, bungee jumped, snowboarded and so forth. Stick around to find something that will help you become the adventurer inside.

I Teach You To Travel Smart

You can blow £3k on a trip to the Maldives for 2 weeks, or you can spend it on 6 months in Thailand. Everything is relative. I believe you should make your money stretch as much as you can with what you have. I believe that you many decisions you make along the way can change a bad trip to an amazing experience – what credit card you took, where you went, what gear you have, how light or heavy you pack, what apps you use, which companies you go with.  I’d like to teach you how to travel smart, so it’s about the journey and not sweating the other stuff.

I Show You How To Feel Good

It’s hard to travel if your heart isn’t in, or you’re unwell, unfit, upset…. all the “uns”. And when you’re not travelling, feeling good is important. Travel blues is a real debilitating disease. It’s important to stay focused on other pursuits. For me that’s cleaner eating (even though I love the cake and meat), yoga, walking, fresh air, less phone use, and the list goes on. If you want to feel good, there’s a lot of juice here to get into. It’s not about a ripped six pack though – it’s a state of mind that you need to nurture.

Learn To Blog Like A Boss

It took me a year to start up this website. No joke. Procrastination. Failure. I’ve been there. Stick around as I share some of the lessons that will help you unleash your online presence and creativity the right way.
